Deoksoon Kim, Ph.D.

Deoksoon Kim is a professor at the Lynch School of Education and Human Development at Boston College. Her specialty is ESOL and English learners, as well as teacher education. She has been doing research on immigrant English language learners and teacher education in American schools for 15 years. Deoksoon Kim has an extensive publication record, and has won awards for her research and teaching. In Korea, 25 years ago, she founded and ran a similar English language program that served 1,450 disadvantaged children. DK English school is thus a combination of both her academic expertise and entrepreneurial experience.

Xijinyan Chen, Ph.D.

Dr. Chen received her Ph.D. in Translation Studies from the State University of New York, Binghamton University and her Master’s degree in Translation and Interpreting from Beijing Foreign Studies University. She has worked as a freelance translator and interpreter since 2010.
